Hearts Forged

"We all have our motivations for the choices we make." In three short stories and a poem, the very foundations of self-discovery, values and morals, and, most importantly, why one takes those values up and how they define morality. The short stories follow potential superhero protagonists, whether teenage, close to thirty, or college-aged, who stumble to find their footing in the circumstances they are thrown into. The choices they make in the beginnings of their stories ultimately decide how things pan out down the line, but these stories illustrate the underlying reasons for where they draw the line, in themselves and morally. The poem outlines the essence of humanity and what it means to be "home". Home is often where values and morals, how relationships work, and how to be a person are learned, after all, which becomes the motivation for one's actions, good or bad.
