After inventing the screw pipe for watering farm fields, Arkhimedes returns to Syracuse where he invents various machines to defend the city against Roman attack. Assigned the task to determine if a crown is all gold or diluted with silver, Arkhimedes discovers the principles of displacement and buoyancy in floating bodies. Spheres Of Arkhimedes has 4,280 lines of blank verse.
