The bone chilling wind coming across the partially open lake was driving the ominous black waves to cascade up and over the causeways banks freezing slowly on the iron rod postings and fence. The sky was threatening to unleash once again the torrents of freezing rain that would eventually turn to sleet and icy road conditions. This was the third day of horrendous weather that slowed the work on the new construction of the high rise bridge that was to connect the main thru way east and west across the state in western Maine. But the weather was not what was on the lips of the towns' people, for a young woman had been found dead, and the killer was still at large.
