"I Dwell in Possibility" is a single poem in parts, following Susan Sink's journey from place to place, from childhood through several landscapes she lived in as an adult, places that informed her imagination as a poet and in which she developed her sense of what landscape would serve her best as "home." An encounter with the painter Valerie P. Cohen and her work, both when Susan lived in Reno for a year and then again shortly after Valerie's death, converge to speak a deep truth about her own body, merging her cancer-riddled body with Valerie's view of the Bristlecone pine as a portrait of resilience, of life in death.
