Lessons From Hebrews

This book is instruction on understanding the Book of Hebrews. It is not a commentary, although some may use it in that manner. Each chapter is a lesson initially taught at approximately one-week intervals. Each lesson builds upon the previous teaching. The book is designed to be used with an open Bible and concurrent Scripture reading. The student can assess whether the instruction is consistent with the Scripture. Lively and exciting discussions will be encouraged, and learning will be facilitated. After all, the Word of God is guaranteed to impact hearts; Isaiah 55:11 teaches God's Word accomplishes His purpose. The logic and beauty of Hebrews are on a heavenly plane. It is directed at the mind. Through compelling evidence, it showcases the preeminence of Christ and his teachings in the New Covenant to the Law, Moses, Angels, and the entire Levitical system of sacrifices and Priests. It demonstrates that the New Covenant was predicted in the Law and the Prophets and was necessary to fulfill God’s holy and righteous purposes for humanity. Christ is our High Priest serving presently at the throne of God in heaven so that New Testament believers have direct access to God’s presence. “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Heb 4:16).
