The Meaning of the Christian Life The Christian life begins with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Christianity is not simply a religion or a collection of traditions. It is a living relationship with the Son of God, who died for our sins and rose again so that we might receive eternal life. Jesus declared: "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." — John 14:6 Every human being was created by God and for God. However, because of sin, humanity became separated from its Creator. The Bible teaches: "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." — Romans 3:23 Sin separates people from God and brings spiritual death. Yet God's love provided the perfect solution through Jesus Christ. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." — John 3:16 When a person repents of sin and believes in Jesus Christ, God forgives their sins and gives them a new life. The Christian journey does not end at salvation—it begins there. From that moment, the believer is called to grow spiritually through prayer, studying God's Word, fellowship with other believers, and obedience to the Holy Spirit.
