Quest For The Mace is a story about a fight to maintain power in a not so genteel university setting in South Mississippi. Timothy F. Shelton, a newly appointed university president, suddenly finds himself in an intense confrontation with a small group of his adversaries. Can they force him out of the position he has sought most of his professional life? Will it take five days, five weeks, five months, or five years? His opponents believe they have secured enough evidence of Timothy's wrongdoing to drive him from the presidency. Can Timothy continue to use his political connections and personal wealth to maintain his position?
