Poems for Patty

My father used to write short poems, stories, and comments about current events within the family. He would hide these gems around the house, like Easter eggs, to surprise my mom. She would open up a sock drawer, and there would be a poem. He had a wickedly irreverent sense of humor, poking fun at everyone, especially my mom. He grew up during the Great Depression and fought in World War II, so he was certainly familiar with pain and struggle, but most of his poems are just unabashedly silly.
