Birthday Wishes

What makes a birthday so special? At age five, Irene Hoang fears loneliness. Her family is decaying by the minute to where she can't seem to recognize them. But, maybe dying alone was better than making friends with anyone in a small Southern California town. At age sixteen, Irene just wants to write. She wants to get carried away by the flow of words escaping the reality of everything. However, writing can't save all her problems. Follow an aspiring writer through her fifth birthday to her sixteenth one. Hopefully, a lucky wish can rescue her.
