For many years after their adventures on Treasure Island, Jim Hawkins and Ben Gunn have lived comfortably at the old Admiral Benbow Inn. But after the passing of Jim’s mother, he and Ben set sail for the Caribbean, taking along Captain Flint’s treasure map and their share of his pirate gold. After losing their fortune in a tragic shipwreck along the way, they find themselves poor and destitute. Although they had never intended to return, Jim and Ben reluctantly take a risk by sailing back to Treasure Island with Flint’s map, seeking the unknown amount of bar silver still buried there. Upon their arrival, they discover the island is being blockaded by Long John Silver and his fleet of pirate ships. There soon follows a mutiny against Silver, led by his treacherous subordinate, Captain Potter, who would kill for this treasure Jim believes is of little value. Only Flint’s curse – the lore of a worthless treasure – could motivate people to commit such acts of greed, betrayal and murder.
