Recoil is the second book in the Death's Whisper Trilogy. Recoil's central story plot concerns itself primarily with the romance between Whisper and Death that begins in book one. The inevitable comes to pass as Whisper learns the true identity of her lover. Realizing that every aspect of her world has come crashing in on itself, Whisper decides that it is time to break off her relationship with Death and run as if Hell itself were after her, and it is.
