Half Way up the Swans

Three original and varied short stories which in different ways explore the trials and trubulations of family life and relationships. In "The Tunnel", a British family holidaying abroad begin to feel out of their depth, especially when a mysterious tunnel presents them with a terrible dilemma. In "Men of Steam", a man making a speech at his daughter's wedding goes seriously off-topic. In "Half Way up the Swans", Paul considers himself fortunate to have a wife who is young, beautiful and a talented musician, but life isn't all plain sailing as they prepare for a gig.
