The Price of Bread is a play set in Normandy, France in 1944. The audience witnesses 2 men in different cells, they communicate through a wall never seeing each other. The war goes on outside the prison leading up to D-day on 6th June 1944. Although the story of the two men in The Price of Bread is fictional, all of the names of people/places used are genuinely connected with the Second World War.
