If he wasn’t stealing skirts to put on his latest ride, Kenny was chasing them – in school or in the bungalow colonies that provided exotic “City Girls” for summer fun. Kenny’s story wends it way through an intricate series of custom cars and intriguing girls, some real, some imagined, until he meets Jody. It’s not so much that Jody ends his search for the perfect girl, but more that she defines that perfection, albeit at a time when Kenny is not ready to see it. By the time he appreciates her, Jody is gone, and he is left with the all-too-obvious imperfections of his cars, his girls, and his life.
