Hell's South Pasture

When John Flynn illegally takes a rag-tag outfit deep into Comanch territory to hunt buffalo, he knows he's courting death. But Flynn figures he has an edge; his companion is Bull Shield, son of a important Comanche war chief. But Bull Shield gets killed and Flynn loses his ticket for safe passage. Undaunted, Flynn continues on, threatened by blood thirsty Comanches, a buffalo stampede, a prairie fire, and at the onset of winter, treachery from some of his own crew.
