Chasing Red

Over this past year plus some months, I thought I was “chasing” love. The physical pleasure of love. The emotional payoff of love. The theoretical absolution of love. In the end, it turns out my chase was about confidence and believing in myself. Wow, confidence, that is what I was missing! Epiphanies seem to be heavenly revelations of ultimate answers, but I find as time marches on that epiphanies become markers, learning-curve plateaus of knowledge, even brief windows of wisdom. Thus, no, I do not know everything, and never will. But it’s nice to find another piece to the puzzle now and then. I hope the “red” of a passionate will to live, discover and experience, remains a beacon. I will try to remind myself that, indeed, living is about the chase, not the epiphany. After all, there are many small smiles to be found in the day-to-day.
