We speak of unconditional love as though it were the easiest thing in the world. Surely all it means is that we love without first dictating conditions that will make what or whom we intend to love worthy of our love. Also it implies that we ask nothing in return. What could be simpler! For a child, yes. We adults however make demands on life. We have ambitions and we strive to succeed. Is love a priority? Do we love our spouse? Do we love God? Do we love our enemy? When? For how long? (from the text) _______ It makes good sense to say that falling in love and romantic love is like an invitation to learn how to love. The hankering to be in love and to be in love again and again is a sure sign of immaturity. Being in love is a blessing but a temporary one.
