In September 1809, as most of the western world lay under the shadow of Napoleon Bonaparte, an aged aristocrat at Europe's further edge was sinking still deeper into the mud of degradation and oppression. Greece was struggling to survive. Into this appears a young man, called Byron who is to be haunted by Missolonghi.
