Methodius Black has an interest in the occult. In these seven stories he investigates ghosts, witches and even a book written from beyond the grave. In his fantastic tweeds this Victorian gentleman attends seances, does some gardening and helps the police with their enquiries. A bit like Sherlock Holmes but without the drugs.
