CRITICAL APPROACH

Poetry appeals to the Imagination. It does give the pleasure. Poetry stimulates the Imagination. In poetry, the poet attempts to communicate attitudes, feelings and interpretations, including ideas. Poetry is not a replacement for a particular emotion in our life. A poem about grief wouldn't help the reader to urge obviate his tears. It is not just the case. It is only an effort to portray a specific experience which may evoke different responses from different readers. Poetry is an art which appeals to man’s aesthetic sense, his awareness of and pleasure in beauty. Poetry creates beauty through rhythm and through sound through pictures it produces, through the feelings it stimulates.
