Slingink (an online writing community) began its life, in 2004, as a spin-off from an online fiction writing course (with the Open University in the UK) and, although its members are writing in a range of fields, the element that brings everyone together is a desire to write. With a writers’ forum, facilities for peer critique and other scheduled activities, the group is effective both as a stimulus for writing and for a bit of understanding company in an otherwise solitary occupation.
