Appalachian Water Tank System
This ebook may not meet accessibility standards and may not be fully compatible with assistive technologies.
Commercial water tanks of any material are quite expensive. This Appalachian Water Tank System is some 1/3 the cost for the material. It is home made, using readily available, but adaptable, materials. It is easily transported and assembled onsite. The wall is quickly assembled with loose fitting boards rather than with close-fitting, time-consuming, finely milled boards. The developer and author, using this system, alone, put up an 8,000 gallon potable water tank (The tank is flexible yet sealed to prevent entrance of insects, dust, etc.). The only assistance was a bull dozer to level the site. The cost of the materials was only $1,500.00. Ten years of service without any maintenance reveals its durability.
There is a complete materials list and sources, and step-by-step description and illustrations of the process. Formulas are included to calculate height of site for the desired water pressure, capacity for different size tanks, and more.
