Taiwan Sights

Taiwan lies off the southeastern coast of the mainland of China, comprising the islands of Taiwan, the Pescadores, Diaoyu, Raleigh rock, Pengchia Yu, Quemoy, Matsu, Orchid and Green Island and other smaller islands. It covers an area of 3,6000 square kilometres, inhabited by a population of more than 20 million, with ethnic groups such as the Han and Gaoshan etc., governing seven cities namely Taipei, Keelung, Hsinchu, Taichung, Chiayi , Tainan and Kaohsiung, and 16 counties. The provisional capital is Taipei.
