Bell's and Jingles are ordered to find a powerfully dangerous hand mirror for their god Loki. They haven't a clue where it's located but Bell's must do this to get out of the contract that Loki still claims she owes him for all the gifts he bestowed upon her. If they find the mirror she will be free from any debt she owes him. Along their journey they discover that the Midnight Guild, a vampire thieves guild is threatening the livelihood of Coalar's guild, Jingle's ex-employer. His sense of loyalty pushes them into dangerous situations that put Bell's life in peril where she faces supernatural beings and must use her wits and wand of wonder to survive.
