The Architects of SNC - Book One

This 23rd Anniversary Special Edition of The Architects of SNC - Book One, 1969 to Spring 1996, was commissioned in 2002 and covers the first 27 years of Sierra Nevada College's history. The commission included Books One and Two that were originally one book with more than 500 pages, but was split into two books in 2005, with years 2004 and 2005 added to Book Two in 2009. The originals up to 2003 were originaly published for the college's presidents and staff, then current and future, in 2003. The author received a second commission by the president emeritus, Dr. Benjamin Solomon in 2009 for a third volume/book covering 2006 to then 2009, which was published in 2010 as Book Three. As you will discover, the college was initially founded by three men: a lawyer, a scientist, and a writer. But by its first winter it was decided by the lawyer acting as the college's president to close its doors due to poor financial performance and debt. A new math instructor, Mr. Ben Solomon, recently hired in the fall of 1969 for the winter semester and who relocated his family in the spring of 1970 to Lake Tahoe for the full-time math instructor position, took over the administration at that time for the somewhat failing new college and built it up from there, paying off its debt and subsequently establishing himself as the true founding president of SNC, although he did not take on the title of president for another ten years. This 2026 Special Edition replicates The Architects of SNC Book One in its entirety, which consequently established itself at the college as the definitive document regarding the college's evolution from its beginning.
