Burning Desires

Carmen, a 19 year old girl, lives in a society filled with talented people – where everybody has a unique power. Unfortunately, there’s nothing different about her. She’s the only person she knows who hasn’t developed a power by eighteen, a fact that her parents can’t seem to leave alone. Thankfully, her best friend Lilac is there to support her no matter what, even if sometimes it feels like Lilac only likes to hang out with her. At least Carmen is starting to meet other people with different personalities – a rebellious girl named Jen and a humorous but shy psychology major named Isaac, and they both have crazy talents. She’s also learning how to manage her overly critical parents, who can’t seem to find one thing good about her. But she’s starting to notice things lighting on fire around her, quite literally. One regular day, she’s hanging out with Jen and Isaac, when something inexplicable happens – and her life is changed to the point where she can't go back.
