Mermaidology

This is a fantasy and realistic fiction book about a girl Elizabeth facing challenges with her friends April, Marina, Lizzy, Sophie, Ava, Bianca and Demetria. These challenges help Elizabeth become braver and stronger than before. She learns it's not about the powers you have but the bravery you have. Her mermaid powers make her learn her worth and how she isn't just a normal teenager. In chapter 7 she reunites with her parents and sister. At the end she decides to remain a mermaid but visits her family sometimes and she has a new sister.
