Caleb has lost someone close to him and is having a hard time coping with it. When his father agrees to let him go to a camp in Japan that is for kids who have lost a loved one, Caleb hopes to discover a way to manage his grief.
One of the field trips takes them to a dragon statue and the legend is, if you don’t touch the dragon, you’ll get bad luck forever. Caleb doesn’t believe in this, so he refuses to touch the dragon. What happens next transforms Caleb forever.
Grief and true friendship are explored and discovered in The Monster Within.
