Looking Back on the Past

The towering Taihang Mountains, with their verdant peaks, outline a beautiful basin. Scattered within this basin are several villages, and I was born in one defined by a large gully—a village named Fengjiagou…… I dedicate this book to commemorate an unforgettable era of tragedy, to honor a steel warrior who fell to the bottom rungs of society and the loved ones who walked alongside him, and to remember the arduous struggles, relentless striving, and hard-won journey of his life.
