Eerie's "Strange Galaxy"
ZAPP COMICS #723 - The Most Incredible Tales In Outer Space! (A Gwandanaland Publication)
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
It has been gone for three decades, but the titles of Eerie Publications are still sought after and enjoyed by readers across the world. Over a 15-year span (1966-1981) Eerie Publishing made its mark as a publisher of B&W horror magazines, competing primarily with the Warren titles and a few of the more successful Marvel magazines. Their output was a mix of original stories and plenty of reprints from the pre- and post-code era. STRANGE GALAXY, a SF/Fantasy/Horror hybrid comic, was stocked with B&W verisons of 1950s stories, many extensively reworked. We have indicated the original artist for the stories where this is known, but in many cases the style has been hidden under the alterations, a fascinating look at how stories were repurposed for a new generation. The is the complete 4-issue series, collected in print for the first time!
It is interesting to note that while these stories are all public domain today, at the time they were used in STRANGE GALAXY, most were not.
