I'm a first-generation American and discovered a love for writing in high school. However, this did not become a formal passion until several years later. I love writing fiction that is layered, beautiful and meaningful. My stories generally reflect a revulsion from much of modern society and pop culture with a focus on slavery of all kinds and the freedom that comes from depending on ourselves instead of a larger system. Additionally, my style finds strength in putting the reader into a moment where they can touch, taste, hear, smell and see what's happening. As a half-Persian, half-Latino who grew up in the southeast US, I like to think that my background provides a unique perspective that is simultaneously validated by like-minded individuals from all walks of life.
