About
Mark Cooper
Born in 1971, Mark Cooper has been in love with books ever since he could read, but it was a happy accident which led to writing Henry. On Mark’s 21st birthday, his sister Vicki gave him the teddy bear which was to be named Henry, as well as become the inspiration for Mark’s first book. One day in 2004, a bored Mark decided to pass the time by writing – something he’d always enjoyed doing. Originally thinking that he wanted to write modern versions of the "Paddington" books by Michael Bond, Mark quickly decided to switch when he realized that he could get into a whole heap of trouble if he went ahead with it. Instead, he chose to use Henry as the main character, and drew further inspiration from the movie Stuart Little, in that the people in that film were just so accepting of a mouse that could talk. Mark, and the real Henry, live in South Yorkshire, England. Henry, now aged 21 himself, seems unfazed by the possibility of his literary counterpart becoming famous.
