Jane Wood is now retired from a full-time, paid working life, and has found more time and energy to devote to her interests - writing books and songs, singing and performing. For most of her career she was a nurse, but not just in Britain - around the world. She has written about one episode in her exciting life: being stuck in Iran in 1979 while the country was undergoing a violent revolution. Her other memoirs are less scarey, but still interesting, especially her involvement with her local community in South Manchester and then Salford, helping to create a Local Exchange Trading Scheme (LETS), which led her into the latest development - the Sharing Economy.
