Justin was born in Taradale, New Zealand, a small town in the Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. As a trained double bass player, Justin's music took him to Auckland, London and New York. During his successful career in bands like The Chills, LUNA and Tuatara, Justin lived for almost a decade on the island of Manhattan and was inspired to write dirty, hard-boiled crime stories and the occasional psychological thriller (coming soon). Now his music career is not his primary focus, publishing his writings and writing more has become his new creative passion. Justin is presently working on a film screenplay, the sequel to The Blender and a psychological thriller set in, you guessed it, New York City. Justin now lives in Piha, Auckland with his family, dog and shed of motorcycles.
