Kasaundra “Kas Poetess” Owens has been performing spoken word since 2010. She ranked #40th place in the top 100 femme poets in the Nation as Austin NeoSoul's 2018 representative for the Women of the World Poetry Slam competition to be held in Dallas. Her works include her 2016 release “Love Letters” and her 2017 release “Unmasking: a collection of emotions”. Kas is a mother, poet, spoken word artist, author, host and advocate for women and children’s rights. Kas uses her poetry to reach people through a sense of poetic therapy; “I want to help others get out of themselves, past their past and into a brighter present.” -Kas
