My name is Mikl Tapia and I struggled with an eating disorder for over 27 years. After being in and out of treatment and therapy with no success, I decided I had enough of trying to work in my own strength. I knew that deep within, my defeat came from trying to overcome in my own strength and not in the Lord's strength. In 2 Corinthians 12:9 the Word of God says, " My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness." All I needed to do was allow God to work in and through my life by surrendering it all to him. I had a long road ahead of me, because I wanted to control things myself. As I walked with the Lord he taught me how to lean on His understanding and not my own. The Lord taught me to work in his strength and not in my own strength which led me to fall each and every time. God spoke life into me through his Word and showed me what true freedom truly is.
