My main gig is science, and jousting with the many creationists out there via my #TIP "Troubles in Paradise" project. But I've long been a fan of Jules Verne, mysteries old and new, and the steampunk science fiction vibe. I've tried to honor all those in the "Paralogs of Phileas Fogg" work, with memorable characters and moments, where technology and its impact on society meet mystery threads--keep en eye out for the Holmes brothers along with the sly chevalier Dupin! The world they race through is historically accurate (even down to the gun store Passepartout buys his pistols from in San Francisco), but its a reality that never loses sight of the social issues of gender roles and racial and economic inequality all too present right outside the train window or ship porthole.
