A Beary Good Start was created by Sheila "Grand" Berry, a Texas educator of 37 years, to help her first grandchild prepare for his entry into Kindergarten. She began working with him based on the requirements for Texas students entering Kindergarten. His success with the information used in the lessons inspired "Grand" to put these lessons in a simple system that any child need to get a solid foundation when entering school.
