“In the first 30 digits of pi there are no spaces or place holders. I have always thought of these digits as static. So, I decided to try to energise them and enable them to to move to any position. Firstly, I needed a sequence. Secondly, I would have to create a space or place holder: hence my sequence numbers... If circles and the measurement for circles are older than mankind, I cannot see how zero, which only came into our number system in recorded history, when there was a need to invent it, is in pi digits."
