These stories were inspired by my experiences as a midshipman and graduate of the US Merchant Marine Academy; service as a commissioned officer in the US Coast Guard working with shipyards, yacht builders and vessels on the domestic waterways and the high seas and twenty-five years working within the yacht and pleasure boat industries. Many of the ports, islands, cities and countries depicted here are described from my own experience. I hope that you were able to feel the enjoyment and exhilaration derived from my many sea crossings.
