I am now retired and living in Dartington in Devon but have spent most of my life in the Purbecks in Devon with my family. Helen and I moved a little west to be closer to our daughter and family, Tony , Sam and Esmee. Our other daughter, Emily, lives in Lancashire but we still see her when ever we can. Originally my family lived in rural Nottinghamshire near Sherwood Forest and I have three sisters and a brother all remaining in that area or close.by. I trained in Industrial Chemistry at Loughborough University and went onto do research in physical chemistry and later environmental chemistry publishing over 100 research papers and gaining a DSc. Since leaving research, we have traveled extensively and enjoyed two years volunteering in Namibia. I have completed some long distance walks and cycle rides including GR11 in the Pyrenees, South West Coastal Path and with Helen the Velo1 in France.
