Adam Yamey was born in London 3 months after Queen Elizabeth II was proclaimed Queen of England. His parents were born in South Africa, but came to live in the UK in 1947. After attending Highgate School, Adam studied for 12 years at University College London. During this time he was awarded a BSc in Physiology, then a PhD in that subject, followed a few years later by a degree in Dental Surgery. Since 1982, Adam has been practising as a dental surgeon. He retired in 2017. In his spare time, he reads, cooks, socialises, sees films and plays, researches various topics including the history of his extensive family, and also writes blogs. He lives in the UK, is married, and has one child.
