Stan Baker is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area and has recently moved to a home outside of Albany, NY. He has been married twenty-four years to his wife Rocío and has a 13 year old son - Santi and 8 year old daughter- Sofia. His teaching experience includes 24 years as a K-12 teacher in both elementary and high school classrooms. He has coached youth soccer for more than thirty years and has lived abroad in Europe as well as South America. He holds USSF A and Y coaching licenses from the United States as well as FIFA recognized licenses from (ATFA - Pro and Youth) Argentina and (CBF - Level 1 Youth) Brazil. He has done numerous observations at places such as Club Atletico Independiente in Argentina, and at the CBF in Brazil. He has coached at the Portland Timbers Pre-Academy Program; he has also served as the coaching director of various clubs in Portland, Oregon as well as high school and University programs. Stan is bilingual Spanish/English and In his spare time has translated books into both Spanish and English for the Internationally renowned coaching mentor Horst Wein. He has a deep understanding of Horst Wein's philosophy of player development. In 2011 he was named United States Youth Soccer's National Coach of the Year - Boys Competitive.
