Ippolito Marmai is a scholar of ancient cultures, including the Minoan civilisation and Eurasian shamanism, but also an explorer of distant lands like Mongolia and the Altai. He was born in Toppo, near Pordenone, Italy, on the 28th of September 1946. He graduated in Sociology at the University of Trento, but since his thesis, he has devoted himself to historical and archaeological research on topics and subjects often neglected by other scholars, or generally considered unsolvable mysteries. His eclectic, interdisciplinary approach has produced unexpected results thanks to the constant verification in the field of the available data. The author's twenty years of research into the Paistos Disc and on the Cretan hieroglyphic script now offers a unique and completely new interpretation of a puzzle that Minoan scholars have being working on for over a century.
