Bernadette Rule is an award-winning writer. Dark Fire (Ironing Board Press, 2021) is her first novel; her second is The Arithmetic of Color (Ironing Board Press, 2024). Both books are based on true stories set in her home county in western Kentucky in the 1920s. She has had 10 books of poetry published, most recently Deep Breath (Frog Hollow Press, 2021), and The Window Washer of Chartres (Paradise North Press, 2023) Rule also hosted Art Waves, a weekly arts interview radio program, from 2008 to 2021.
