For over forty years Brightie White was a North Carolina Baptist pastor. He writes from his pastoral experience and memory about funny things at church and in the parsonage, some humorous and some unusual. In his books he will make you laugh and wonder about what religion does to some people. Dr. White is a graduate of the old Wake Forest College and the young Southeastern Seminary where he was in its first doctoral class. He was pastor of Park View Baptist Church in Durham and three First Baptist Churches in Snow Hill, Elizabeth City, and Hillsborough. He was also assistant pastor of Five Points Baptist Church in Wilson and the First Baptist Church of Granite Falls. His early years were spent in Kinston, Thomasville, and Morganton. In retirement he lives in Wilmington.
