Novelist, songwriter and poet... I was raised in theatre when method acting was the modern trend, when it was drilled into me not to just act out the lines but to BE the part. I’ll never forget the countless fuss, criticism, redirection...till whatever measly little part that I had put together would develop into something believable in the eyes of whatever tyrannical director was momentarily in my charge. Looking back, I feel lucky that this sense of 'realism' stuck with me long after retiring from the ‘smell of the greasepaint and roar of the crowd’. I attempt this self-same approach in my written works – to live and breathe the air of each and every one of my characters. Whatever I struggle to arouse in my readers – the sense of magic, frustration, despair, awe and epiphany – I have felt a thousand times more, as tapping into the creative muse is a wonderfully exhaustive process. With senses opened and exposed, I desire my captive audience to experience what moves us all...
