Courtney Mann Cacatian is a destination organization and tourism professional. Her first book, The Future of Destination Organizations: A Guide to a Community-Based Welcome, outlines her work in the Charlottesville, Virginia, region. Her approach focuses on research, community building and inclusivity. She took on the challenge of leading the Charlottesville Albemarle Convention and Visitors Bureau two years after the Unite the Right rally in August 2017. She describes her work in the community to date, how she arrived to do that work, and the unifying and award-winning results so far.
