Carole R. Fontaine is the Taylor Professor of Biblical Theology and History at Andover Newton Theological School in MA. She is a long-time author and editor of scholarly works on the Bible, ANE, women's studies, and Human Rights. She has extensive media credits for her work in cable television to make biblical scholarship and serious, determined spirituality accessible to general audiences. She is currently at work on a visual translation of the Song of Songs, and serves on Human Rights advisory boards working with Muslim women on religious freedom. Her most recent book is With Eyes of Flesh: The Bible, Gender, and Human Rights (2008).
