About
Chris Brown

I write poetry. My name is Chris Brown and I live in a nursing home on the north side of Brisbane in Queensland Australia. I became disabled progressively about five years ago and, not being able to use my hands very much at all, I started to write poetry mostly for my own amusement. I am able to tap away at my iPad and to date over the past five years I have created 10 books. I have written one novel called The Earlswood Chronicles, a memoir, two books on Christian faith, six collections of eclectic poetry and, in addition a small guide to help those who like me, may need to live in an environment of assisted living. My poetry is descriptive, hopefully humorous, sometimes spiritual, drawn on my wide experience of life. Born on Redhill Surrey south of London. I am 76. My mother said that while in the hospital having me she could hear the doodlebugs (V1 flying bombs) going overhead. Apparently, you started counting when the motor stopped. There is a poem about playing at school in a bomb crater on the edge of our play area only a few hundred yards from the hospital. Great for Dinky cars! My work was in the electrical field. I worked in the UK, Africa and Australia. Set up a green fields operation in Queensland and semi retired at 58 to look after people in a part time position in pastoral care. Prior to becoming incapacitated my wife Barbara and I travelled and cruised a fair amount. I love telling stories. My novel may be unique in that God and sex happen on the same page.
